Thank you so much, Chair.

[LMGlobal.Org] Thank you for diving into these critical issues, as they are not socially comfortable to address easily. I congratulate all the speakers and thank them for the information provided.

I would like to offer a different angle in terms of solutions. We will not be able to provide a comprehensive solution solely as a volunteer-based organization. We have been associated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications since 2005.

We developed a project, especially in support of the Summit of the Future and the Pact for the Future, and to Save Future Generations. This project is called, “Compulsory Peace Education and ICT from Kindergarten to K-12, and Beyond”.

The reason I conceived this vision is based on very long-term observations.

We heard from the distinguished representative of Cambodia, my NGO colleague, and others, especially regarding the absence of digital literacy and a significant gap among children, families, and across generations. In the last couple of years, I’ve observed mothers giving babies cellphones and iPads as if they were a nipple, just like a bottle of milk. Therefore, the main vision is that we will not overcome this; we will not find a solution as long as wars, conflicts, and natural disasters continue, and a huge gap in equality persists.

We have already presented this concept towards public awareness and are working towards gaining member states’ attention to bring this vision to the UNGA. 

So, we need to invest in babies, particularly girls globally, [and families] from one year old, and educate them in digital literacy, at least to prevent and protect future generations. I hope that this vision will materialize and be supported by member states.

I am positive that it will take place by 2045 as a global, compulsory, free public education system, including ICTs, starting in kindergarten that might be the way to protect and prevent children, women, and people from any form of human trafficking.

I am Turkish-American. We have not touched on another critical point here*: Some fundamentalist religious groups abuse girls, forcing them to marry at the age of 6 or 9! This must be considered another form of sexual abuse and family/community-forced exploitation of the lives and futures of child-girls in such communities worldwide.
