The webinar clearly illustrated both historical and current ongoing threats against democracy and human rights on the one hand. And, the other, through each presentation, question, comment, and/or throughout the session, it has sought out the ideas toward solutions as the session presented one of the best existing examples in the world such as Costa Rica along with doable ideas and visions presented toward solutions.

Covid-19 negative impacts on democracyCoronavirus outbreak has adjusted global political and economic balances to the new paradigm. The world has now embarked on a new era where every aspect of our lives is affected by the multiple paradigmatic shifts induced by the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) disease.
CLOSING REMARKS
With a 200 years history and culture of peace and being able to reverse forests and environment and sustaining it, along with, being a few non-weaponized member states in the world since 1949, Costa Rica has been the shining star, role model, and hope to the world in the name of democracy and human rights.
Terrorism and fake news are the current monsters we are supposed to be afraid of…
There will be people you don’t like, news you do not trust and ideas you do not support online; just like there are in the ‘real’ world. Do not give permission to the gatekeepers to use them as an excuse to take away your rights. Do not cheer for the gatekeepers who punish ‘bad people’ and censor the ‘wrong ideas.’
