Good morning everyone,

I’m Bharathi, an sophomore aerospace engineering student from MIT, Anna University. I have chosen to talk Neha Sharma, Director R&D Samsung India as she feels like a more relatable, young but a great impact maker.

We are standing at a threshold where infrastructure is no longer made of steel and concrete, but of invisible signals. Today, we explore what it means to ‘architect the invisible’—the roadmap to 6G and the pioneering leadership of Neha Sharma.

Think about the air in this room. It is heavy with signals we cannot see, yet they have become the nervous system of modern life. We’ve moved from the simple voice calls of 2G to the streaming era of 5G. But 6G is a fundamental redesign. It isn’t just about speed; it is the ‘architecture of intelligence’ where the network stops being a tool and starts being a cognitive environment that hosts our collective reality.

With over five billion people connected, the digital divide is no longer just about who has a phone—it’s about who has the power to participate in the global economy. 6G shifts the question from ‘how fast can we talk’ to ‘how seamlessly can the world think together?’ We are building a system where opportunity and digital equity are no longer dictated by your geography.

Building a vision of this magnitude requires leaders who bridge the gap between abstract theory and industrial reality. Neha Sharma, Director and Principal Architect at Samsung R&D, sits at this exact intersection. Her journey is a masterclass for every researcher in this room. It began in the labs of Punjab Engineering College, obsessing over the physics of optical switching. When she joined the industry, she didn’t just maintain the status quo; she dismantled the limits of existing systems, filing core patents that define how our devices stay connected today.

She transitioned from solving yesterday’s connectivity issues to architecting the 2030 landscape. Her career proves that mastery of the fundamentals is the only way to lead global industry shifts. Neha’s perspective is ‘Technology with Purpose.’ She recognizes that 6G must exist to bridge the gaps that 5G leaves behind. By merging AI, communication, and space technology, she is designing a system that ensures a signal is a human right, not a geographic privilege.

By 2030, we will move from ‘connected devices’ to ‘connected realities.’ 6G introduces the ‘Internet of Senses’—holographic communication and sub-millisecond latencies that allow for innovations we once thought were science fiction. This isn’t just a signal; it’s communication becoming cognition, where the network learns and anticipates human needs.

Technically, we are re-engineering the entire stack through three critical layers. The Physical Layer moves to Terahertz frequencies for massive bandwidth. The Intelligence Layer makes the network self-learning and self-healing through AI-native design. Finally, the Network Layer integrates space, air, and ground systems—a ‘system of systems’ that makes the network truly three-dimensional.

The ‘brain’ of this network is moving to the ‘Edge.’ Processing data locally means near-zero latency, which is essential for autonomous vehicles, remote surgery, and immersive AR. This shift doesn’t just increase performance; it protects privacy by keeping data where it is created, while predictive traffic control makes the entire system energy-efficient and sustainable.

As we look toward the horizon, 6G extends beyond Earth. By utilizing LEO satellites and high-altitude platforms, we are making the network disaster-resilient and truly global. The future will not be something you just look at on a screen; it will be an environment you experience. The roadmap to 6G is being written by those bold enough to design what the rest of the world cannot yet see. Let’s build an invisible world that empowers everyone, everywhere.
