[#JUCAwards2025] Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted by United Nations in 2015. It’s a universal call to action to protect planet and encourage society to end destitution by the end of 2030. Moreover, people will enjoy peace and prosperity. It developed through the years and it began in 2016.

Importance of focusing on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is to invent healthier environment and peaceful society. By the end of 2030, as all humanity we must be encourage each other to contribute 17 goals. United Nations investigate these goals by global issues that taken all over the world. We must be aware of our planet passed through difficult periods and still going through. As a member of this society, it’s our liability to create humanity which give equal opportunity to everyone from child to adult. Small acts, movements, or speeches produce an huge effect on society.

The reason behind I’m choosing this goal for our near future marine sources are about to consumed away. People must be aware of marine sources wasted all the time by the humanity and still. My purpose of doing this project is to encourage others and indicate the goal 14 is also important wicked problem as other goals. As my researches most of the people think that if marine sources create any problem, it won’t bother them enough to restrict their life quarters. My first aim is to change mindsets like “My act won’t matter a lot, there are a lot human like me on earth.” and then I can take FOMH (Future of Marine Horizon) movement into life.

2025 UN Ocean Conference on June 2025, France adopted by United Nations. Conference support the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14 and theme was “Accelerating action and mobilizing all actors to conserve and sustainably use the ocean”. To open this idea and compare with FOMH, UN Ocean Conference focus on the exact same idea which is to create sustainable plans. Conference comprise of 10 different segmentations to criticize current position on Goal 14.

We have to define what is marine resources and overfishing. Marine resources are biological or physical sources that found in oceans. Marine resources are useful for humans that’s why it started to consume away and it’s out of control. Overfishing defined as catching too many fishes at once, it’s the most important threat of ecosystem balance at seas and oceans. Overfishing occurs unwanted sea life, loss of largest predators and it alerts the relation between predators – prey balance. If the ecosystem is not healthy wildlife would be unable to create prosper development. Fishers largest target is to catch predators and the loss of predators sett of ecosystem

balance. Mature fishes called predators are much more efficient. Mature fishes produce more eggs and if their loss percentage increase it reduces the number of young fishes.

FOMH(Future of Marine Horizon) comes up with an solution for overfishing which is a threat for the balance of ecosystem. The machine invented by me detects the fishes that are prohibited to hunting. Hunting not mature fishes are aspect of overfishing it obstruct for mature fishes development. However, with the device adopted by FOMH will create the best balance in the ecosystem and percentages overfishing is going to decrease over time. If people over the world accept the fact that overfishing issues is became more serious over the years. Right now by the stats there are only enough seafoods left for 23 years.

Device invented by FOMH creates opportunity to catch fishes in danger of extinction. Device distinguish the species by their color, size, fin and etc. Features of fishes entered into the system, while fishing device detects the fish and gives a warning. Species that distinguished by the device are carps, small fishes, tinca and etc. These are the fishes not allowed at seas for hunting.

Predators are target for the hunters, humans. Out of the fishes that are not allowed to hunt by law, young fishes are the food and the future of predators. Predators are the ones which produces the most eggs and backing marine resources which is part of the ecosystem. It became a loop over the centuries. As humans, we are in this ecosystem but external conflicts damages ecosystem. If we are hunting young fishes or endangered fishes, number of predators will decrease with the same ratio.

Over the year that I improve FOMH movement, I made a deep research about the conferences and other plans that adopted by United Nations. I’ve almost never seen that todays technology used as a part of development plan. Human intelligence introduced robots that have capability to do anything that people can do. We have to be aware of the threat and use every opportunity that we can use. First, my aim was to change mindsets and conduct a project which creates difference in mindsets. I realize that our technology is leveling up day by day and introducing FOMH is the best idea.

In the near future, we may able to introduce FOMH device in real life that can group of people(fishers) able to reach devices withand capable price. Likely, project will attend SDGs goal 14 and create difference in marine development plan.

If you wanted to continue this project how would you do it?
I would like to improve my device and study with United Nations. Maybe, I can even improve the device that can detect all trash in the water while fishing.

What else do you think we can do it to protect the oceans?
Overfishing is not the only way to prevent marine resources from consume away. Especially, the plastics or the toxics release into the sea. We must protect and create plastics that soluble in water.
