Program with the brief bio of the Speakers – Inaugural Session – October 5, 2024

[LMGlobal.Org] At the Compulsory Peace Education and ICTs’ Inaugural Session on October 5, 2024, moderator & author of the concept Bircan Ünver, announced a newly gained member to the Coalition based in India: Metasage Alliance. Follow by she presented a written message as a “good news” by Dr. Akila Muthuramalingam, CEO of the Metasage Alliance:

Metasage Alliance is proud to partner with LMGlobal.org to introduce and advocate compulsory peace education and ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) from kindergarten to K-12 and beyond in support of the UN’s newly adapted #PactForTheFuture, #OurCommonFuture Agenda.

This initiative aims to empower students with the values of peace, empathy, and global citizenship through ICT technologies with digital literacy while equipping them with the critical digital skills necessary in today’s rapidly evolving world.
By integrating peace education into the core curriculum through ICTs, we believe in fostering a culture of understanding and cooperation from an early age, preparing the next generation to lead with compassion and innovation.
Through this partnership, along with the rest of the members of the coalition; Metasage, and LMGlobal.org will create a transformative educational experience that bridges the gap between technology and social responsibility.
Our program not only builds foundational ICT competencies but also emphasizes ethical digital usage, conflict resolution, and sustainable development.
Together, we are committed to shaping well-rounded individuals who can navigate the complexities of modern society while promoting peace and progress on a global scale.
We trust that collaboratively we will effectively advocate the set-out vision on the global level with an ultimate goal to be incorporated with the UN programs in the years to come!

Due to prior commitments, we couldn’t join you today. Message Alliance wishes you all a successful inaugural session, and looking forward to taking part in person in the next one!

For the second written message of the session, Bircan invited Ms. Vrushali Gaikwad to present another message by a long-term collaborator with the LMGlobal.Org, Arvind Vora of Shanti Fund, who is also member of the Coalition based in New York:

“Shanti Fund & The Light Millennium Global have been working together for many years. Hosted several events together. Bircan made several trips to India to deepen the peace collaboration.

Shanti means Peace and the motto is Peace and Enlightenment through Education.

This year is the 30th Anniversary of the Shanti Fund. In addition to promoting peace activities for youth from Grades 1 to 12, Volunteers of Shanti Fund undertake building bridge programs between mainstream and newly arrived immigrants.

Suffolk County appreciated unusual and creative activities by having the Gandhi Statue at the Executive Building 25 years ago and through SUNY-OW Gandhi Peace Garden five years ago.

For that, our 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Gandhi Statue in Suffolk County overlaps with this Inaugural Session for October 5, in which we are a part of the newly formed coalition.

Thus, I won’t be able to join you today in person, but our collaborative vision and efforts towards advocating peace education will continue and be further strengthened through the vision for the #OurCommonFuture.

For the closing of this session, Bircan stated: “We commit to continue working on this concept collaboratively, at minimum once or twice a year, on similar programs, including expanding and strengthening the coalition as an ongoing process in the coming months and years. We consider that compulsory peace education through ICTs is not that far fetch as long as there is a global demand and political will attached to it.”
She focused on the vision by saying, “We strongly think that without a compulsory peace education through ICTs starting kindergarten to K-12, the next and following generations will face much greater challenges.”
She continued: “This is our responsibility to work towards that end so that we may be able to save the future generations through such fundamental approaches toward making compulsory peace education through ICTs as the backbone of the Global Education Systems.”


In closing, she added, “With that goal in mind in the years to come, we are excited to announce our collaborative next program as the third one in this line to be presented virtually in support of the International Day of Education on January 25, 2025. 

We look forward to further strengthening our collaboration and coalition.”



Then she suggested that everyone mark their calendar for January 25.
