On the 23rd Anniversary of the formation of The Light Millennium, Inc. Charitable Global Human Advancement Organization | LMGlobal.Org based in New York formed on July 17, 2001.

[LMGlobal.Org, July 17, 2024] The Light Millennium Global is thrilled to celebrate 23 years of illuminating lives and fostering positive change! Initially, since 2000, through online publications, public events, The Light Millennium TV Programs, the U.S. Turkish Library and Museum for Friendships and Peace project (2011), Turkish online publications since 2000 through Isik Binyili, Turkish counterpart of the organization, a combination of these have been the beacon of the organization, which contributed towards its initial 2001 Mission, and 2019 “Amended & Broadened” Purposes.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Light Millennium Global (LMGlobal.Org) is a non-profit empowering a more peaceful and sustainable world. (Introduced on the web in 1999).
Although we officially formed in 2001, since 2000, we’ve provided open and multi-faceted platforms for diverse voices and fostered global understanding through multi-media platforms and public events, including conferences at the United Nations.

Our core mission, aligned with the 2019 “Amended and Broadened” Purposes, is to cultivate responsible and enlightened global citizens who champion peace, environmental responsibility, and cultural understanding. Through the Global Home & School Project, we envision a world where even the most vulnerable children have access to quality education and a nurturing environment.

We achieve this through collaboration with educational institutions, NGOs/CSOs, the United Nations, and relevant stakeholders. The Global Home & School Project, in particular, will require an international body to be established with political will. Collaboration with these entities will be key to making progress. Programs like the J.U.C. Awards empower youth participation globally, while we support the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, UN Days, and Sustainable Development Goals to build global awareness and inspire collective action.

Our commitment is to cultivate intellectual productivity, inspire collaboration, and nurture a world where everyone contributes to a sustainable and unified future while working towards #human advancement on a global level. We leverage the power of technology for good, promoting responsible use and educating the public on potential risks.

We’ve witnessed countless inspiring stories on #LightMillenniumTV, impacting viewers with Water, Non-Violent, Girls Education, Human Rights, Intl. Mother Language Day, Poetry, Ambassador Profiles, Information Communication Technologies, and many more impactful programs that serve as informal public education, a bridge with the UN and local communities, empowerment, and social awareness.

Introduced in the web in 1999, The Light Millennium (LMGlobal.Org) has fostered global human advancement for 23 years. Through its initiatives, including the award-winning #LightMillenniumTV program, LMGlobal.Org has provided a platform for diverse voices promoting understanding and collaboration. We are exploring the possibility of establishing sister organizations in other countries, inspired by the work of the Isik Binyili Association*, a sister organization based in Istanbul, Turkey (2010), that shares similar goals. And, in partnership with numerous nation-wide and international organizations, LMGlobal.Org continues to champion important causes while inspiring positive change.

From Ideas to Action: The Light Millennium’s Transformation

Although The Light Millennium was initially introduced on the web in 1999, its official journey began in 2001 with a powerful vision for fostering global connection, harmony, and social well-being. 

2001 Vision as Foundation:

• Supporting educational opportunities and cultural understanding.

This evolution demonstrates The Light Millennium’s commitment to transforming its vision into a global movement for positive change.

The Light Millennium Global: A UN Advocate for Change.

The Light Millennium (LMGlobal.Org) has been a dedicated NGO member of the United Nations since its association with the Department of Public Information (UNDPI) in 2005. LMGlobal.Org actively participates in UN conferences, contributing to various UN programs through workshops, exhibitions, panels, and presentations. The work of LMGlobal.Org focuses on crucial issues like Freedom of Information, Global Hunger, Girls’ and Women’s Rights, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aligning perfectly with their 2019 “amended & broadened” organizational purposes.

For example, LMGlobal.Org presented the fourth annual World Water Day sessions, supporting SDG-6 (Clean Water and Sanitation). In May 2024, they presented “How to Prevent Harmful Consequences from ICTs Toward a Sustainable Future” as a part of the UN Civil Society Conference. Currently, LMGlobal.Org is developing a program on “Compulsory Peace Education and ICTs” in support of the UNGA79 Sessions’ dedication theme, “Summit of the Future”.

Since 2005, LMGlobal.Org has maintained “Good Standing” with the Department of Global Communications (formerly UNDGC). Bircan Ünver leads up to six delegates representing LMGlobal.Org at the UN Premises in New York, along with UN NGO Conferences. Beyond participation, LMGlobal.Org actively supports the SDGs, bridging the gap between UN programs with local communities, and international networks.

As the LMGlobal.Org celebrates its 23rd anniversary, it continues to build on its legacy. By embracing science, and technology, and fostering global connectivity and conscience, the organization strives to create a sustainable and brighter future for all.

Comparing and presenting highlights of the 2001 and 2019 purposes, which together clearly reflect The Light Millennium Global’s evolution, which has been a fantastic and unique journey on the global level although yet it is a seeded volunteer based organization.  

On the 23rd official formation anniversary of the Light Millennium Global, through comparison and highlights of the initial 2001, and the 2019 broadened purposes, which clearly illustrate the core values that have remained constant while demonstrating the organization’s growth, focus, and commitment to all our current, near and distant future colleagues, volunteers, collaborators.
It’s interesting to see how the initial focus on global connection, intellectual exchange, and social welfare has evolved into the more action-oriented and specific goals of the current mission. The 2001 vision remains aspirational and provides a strong foundation for The Light Millennium’s identity.
