I would like to thank very much to our distinguished speakers and the following members of the Committee

WELCOME TO MR. RAMU DAMODARAN, THE FIRST CHIEF UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT (2010-2021), who will deliver the Opening Remarks of the Session;

With that, I’d like to thank all the submitters, our pride and joys, for sharing the fruits of their creative minds with us, by entering this award project. I’m very excited that we can open a new door for them which will help nurture their exceptional talents through JUC’s inspiration.
JUC’s creative mind will live on as long as people around the world continue to take his IQ tests online (you will hear more about it a little later), and as long as this award ceremony continues.

NO FURTHER DUE, I’D LIKE TO MOVE ON TO MY WELCOMING SPEECH (will read it.)

I’m deeply touched by the response of so many talented young minds to my call for The 2021 J.U.C. Media, Research and Writing Awards.
I take great pride and pleasure today to welcome all of you to a project which was born out of a mother’s love and sorrow, who was determined to carry on her son’s exceptional talents by inspiring other young talented minds along with to expand her love beyond her immediate family to a global family.

My son JOHN UNVER CULKIN (JUC) was an exceptionally talented child, who always amazed me and his dad with his curious mind.
He was very observant and determined to figure out how the human mind worked.
His curiosity about how people think and learn led him to design tests to measure intelligence.

I remember that this process began as early as when he was 12 years old…
Constantly testing his intelligence and/or trying to improve his mind via various channels including working on science projects, reading dissertation papers since 8th grade, books on “how brain works” along with writing short stories and developing book projects…That was my curious and creative son, who gave the utmost importance on being intelligent at all times…

He had shown his first posted IQ test on a blog that he created with a screen name and posted and shared it when he was at the age of 15…
He took it so seriously and continuing doing it so but none of us at home in this IQ tests field had much experience, so that we did not pay so much attention to that until it appeared as if a book Project itself… Especially, when he asked me to print one of his new tests at the time, which turned out a 49 page “Hyperspatial” test. Once I printed for him, stapled it and gave him. He was amazed by saying, “Mom, it is like a book!”. I said, yes, indeed, if you could write an intro and ideas and logic behind it, then indeed, it will be a great book. He thought a couple second on it, then replied, “I don’t know, Mom. Maybe!”* (Now, that “maybe” has become my new mission!)

In 2017, when I was in İstanbul, he sent an email and indicated that his IQ test is published alongside professors at Cambridge at www.IQExams.Net website. I still have that email (below).

Yes, you heard it right, he was designing intelligence tests on his own although we did not know its validity and/or place in those within posted IQ tests. His specific focus on the IQ tests was “spatial” ones… he did design/developed all alone himself with a simple “image maker” program.

IQ tests as they are commonly known, and he was passionate about it as if it was his entire world.
As the people of the immediate household, his father and myself, were always asked to take these IQ tests of course, as he constantly needed test subjects to perfect his tests!

He did not only design 1 IQ test, but also the ones posted on IQExams.Net 10, and out of 10; 9 are still available on this site… in all, and eventually, his hard work paid; and some of his tests not only were accepted by an online IQ test group but his tests were also included in some of the IQ Test club/groups one of the authors’ tests to be taken to be accepted…
And, the administrator the website along with author of various IQ tests, Mr. Hans Sjoberg in Stockholm was so kind to share a tribute to the honor of J.U.C., and his IQ Tests outcome and reports with me.

In this line, I’ve learned much later on that he also belonged to at least 2 or 3 IQ Genius Clubs…

And now, I would like to share some sections from Mr. Hans Sjöberg‘s kind tribute to my son J.U.C., which titled, “John U. Culkin’s work with psychometric tests”. The tribute summarizes my son’s relationship with his online IQexams.net website along with his current available tests on his website , where he is the administrator and author of iq tests.

In his tribute, he states that John contacted them the first time on November 7, 2016. He had a question about the validity of their tests; John had scored a mean of IQ 145 on their test site back then. A few months later John became an active member in their website and Facebook group for IQ testing and creation; IQexams.net & IQnavi.net.

According to Mr. Sjoberg, John was very active in testing and creating tests until the beginning of 2019, so about 3 years. After performing 54 test of their tests, they concluded that John’s IQ is 149 sd15. Mr. Sjoberg says, to put this in perspective, this is about 1 of 2,000 people from an unselected population. About the level that you can expect to find college professors, mathematicians, physicist in. John had many scores over 160.

Most tests created by John, were originally planned as being used with a time limits, however John’s tests had a tendency to be a bit “too creative” for people to understand them fast enough, so most tests had to be changed to long duration or untimed. John was very productive and insistent to release new tests on IQexams.net.
Mr. Sjoberg conveys that continuously each day around the year, at least one person, some place on our planet, is working hard solving a test created by John. He also kindly informed me that John’s tests and account will be kept on IQexams.net as long as -we/the family- agrees on it and the brothers Hans Sjöberg & Henrik Nilheim will be able to run the site.
In his tribute, Mr. Sjoberg has a suggestion for the high school students who attended our competition. he says: “The most important thing is not your IQ, it is how you treat other people and yourself. High IQ can be important for some positions, but a smart person may not be necessarily with a good-hearted.”
And his tribute to John end with this paragraph. I couldn’t agree more!
“I wish people in high positions, politicians, oligarchs, CEOs of big cooperations, could be more than smart, also suspicious (not easy to fool), not taking bribes, and full of empathy for the weak and normal people and work for us and not the false agendas that we see all the time. We don’t have that now, at least not in my country.”
