On Cultural Diversity – I

HERITAGE IS THE DAWN OF MODERNITY

Heritage is not just the past, but the dawn of modernity,
It must be preserved till eternity.

The language, the clothes, the food, the rituals we possess
One must realize, it will never harm our progress,
It teaches us humanity, I must confess.
Our unity and principles are the secrets of our success.

Indians possess the best of fraternity,
Heritage is not just the past, but the dawn of modernity,
It must be preserved till eternity.

India has Red Fort, Taj Mahal, India Gate, Qutub Minar and many more to flaunt,
Peace and prosperity is what all religions want
So many cultures, so much disparity,
Yet, Our heritage is famous for its secularity.
Heritage is not just the past, but the dawn of modernity,
It must be preserved till eternity.

Folk songs, paintings, dance forms are abundant
History shows, we have always been triumphant
23 Languages and yet united makes us all exultant
Our geography is the epitome of serenity
Heritage is not just the past, but the dawn of modernity
It must be preserved till eternity.

On Present Times – II

I swiped him right and we had a conversation,
“Hi shreya, how are you?”
I never wanted to cast a cloud over him but admitted that I am just 16.
He defended that it doesn’t matter,
  all he loves is to chatter.
I confessed that all my dreams are shattered without realizing that I was Damsel in Distress. Maybe this is my one of the biggest regrets.
Things went right, we came close and the day had arrived when we met.
That day I suffered a thousand deaths.

That guy turned out to be the husband of my aunt Beth.

On “The Future” – III

“What if diseases were considered as a method of Population Control”,
suggested the President Jackson of Populitia, a country flooding with lives.
Mr. Carl, the Vice president disaccorded the idea and declared that the president is living in a fool’s paradise.
” If Mr. President is correct, then sorry everyone, Hitler’s Survival of the fittest should also be considered flawless “
No one listened to him and viruses were spread everywhere to kill 1/3rd of the population.
Destruction was started when the diseases couldn’t be stopped from spreading and those who survived started dying out of the grief of losing their near ones.
That’s when Mr. Carl rephrased the president’s idea, “What if these deceases wipe out the entire population?”
